Susan was first introduced to wilderness medicine at age 16 during a trip to Northern Thailand where she received her Wilderness First Aid Certification and worked in a small village medical clinic. Compelled by the unpredictability and innovative nature of wilderness medicine, Susan has specific interests in Mountain and Ski Medicine. She has a B.S. (in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology) from University of Michigan and is currently an M3 at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. In her free time, you can find her skiing, in search of powder, and dreaming of living in the mountains. Susan is looking forward to expanding GOWME's reach to more medical students and deepening her passion for wilderness medicine along the way.
