MS3 - Humanitas University; Milan, Italy
Hi! My name is Jordan Hammond, and I’m a 3rd-year medical student at Humanitas University in Milan, Italy. I have a B.S. in Public Health with a minor in Spanish and a Leadership Distinction in Diversity and Social Advocacy from the University of South Carolina Honors College. After undergrad, I completed an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s program (MPH, M.Sc.) called Europubhealth+ specializing in health leadership, governance, and policy where I lived in Spain, France, and The Netherlands, having done 1 year entirely in Spanish. Now, I study medicine at Humanitas University in Milan, Italy. Upon graduation from medical school, I plan to pursue a U.S. residency in emergency medicine or pediatrics.
I am particularly interested in medicine in low-resource environments, combat medicine, and how extreme and emergency medicine changes in the field of pediatrics and across the globe. I hope to explore more how emergency medical services differ globally, and how we can improve them from a policy perspective. Having lived in 4 European countries since I graduated from USC, I am passionate about exploring new cultures, places, and forming cross-cultural relationships. In my leisure time, I try new things in the kitchen and lead bike tours throughout Milan.
