Catherine Lawton- Co-Vice Coordinator
MS3 University of Queensland Ochsner School of Medicine
My name is Catherine and I am the Co-Vice Coordinator. I am a third year medical student at The University of Queensland Ochsner School of Medicine in Brisbane, Queensland. I completed a Bachelor of Science at The University of Michigan majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience and minoring in Biochemistry. My specific interest in wilderness medicine lies in ultra-endurance, space, and rescue medicine. I have run a variety of full and half marathons including the Detroit International Marathon and will be training soon for my first ultra. I find the physiological changes in endurance sports such as ultra running or Iron Mans fascinating and love the detailed work that goes into competing at such distances. When not doing coursework you can find me backpacking or searching for the best local coffee roastery. I am extremely excited to help share this project and continue learning alongside you about the depth and breath of wilderness medicine!
